  1. I would do mate but that means ive gotta sell mine first! and the bloke who was going to buy it this weekend didnt contact me! :headvswal
  2. i think im gonna call him tomorrow - ask for him to put new tyres on, and take it for another spin.
  3. hmm - thanks for your replies, im just thinking maybe im looking for things wrong with it, and when i stand back and look: there were no weird noises or rattles from the engine - no smoke from the engine, and, apart from it been wet so not been able to floor it , it drove fine - boost guage was in the correct position etc. If he can, like he says, warrant the mileage and give 6 months warrenty, surely it should be fine? Ed
  4. cheers guys - the smoke was - well smoke and a white colour mixed together i suppose - it did disappear when i was driving it though. dont think it was a good time to test drive it really, like i say tyres were v bad, it was v wet and v busy, so.. Another question, did all the TT's have the cooler slats on the front skirt? Thanks again (are there any tt owners on here from brum who wouldnt mind taking me out in theres?)
  5. Hi all - well im still looking for a Z, Drove a 1990 Auto N/A yesterday and 1992 Auto TT today. N/A was ok - more responsive than i thought only not that quick off the mark - was a good test drive though, it was dry yesterday and could drive quite hard. TT today..ok well its at an import place and hasnt been registered yet, bloke reckoned it hadnt been started since it got to his garage, there quite a lot of smoke for the first 15mins of it idling in the garage, went for a drive but it was pi**ing down so could really do much, when i did it slid all over the place, (the tyres were all shot - rekons he'll replace all of them for me). The boost guage looked ok it was well left on idle and got to two bars to the positive side ? (that correct way to say it?!) and from reading the buying guide - thats seems that its ok. WAs a bit dissapointed tho with the test drive as i couldn't really floor due to the wet (and been in the city centre). It has 77K Kms - and says he's got docs to prove and history from Japan too. Interior was quite good nick - just the cover to the aircon controls that was a bit loose. If im to have it - he's giving me 2 grand for my '94 Mr2 N/A and £2300 cash for the Zed - which i think is pretty good. It will come with full mot and tax and 6 months warrenty. What do you guys rekon? Ta Ed
  6. sorry mate! havent checked that mail account - i'll have a look now!

  11. heh , yeah i'll take a good look through the sale section later! Cheers Ed
  12. well UK preferably as im yet to find an insurer to quote me a good price for an import but i still have a few more to try..so both at the mo. Cheers
  13. Yeah - just had a quick look through there, ill have to have a closer look later as im at work with beady eyes on my screen!! My budget - around 4k
  14. Hi All.. Well im still searching for a nice TT Zed (Preferably in Black T-Bar) if anyone or if anyone knows who's selling one on here! Went to have a look at a few at an Import Place in B'ham centre - there were 4, 3 of them were utter pap...paintwork shoddy interior ripped etc. The 4th was nice - but waaay overpriced in my opinion. Need to find one soon!!!
  15. Not basing it on insurance costs but it is a factor. Did a quote on line and found the UK spec quote £600 cheaper! But perhaps i will find an insurance company to quote cheaper on an import.. so what should i be looking for when im looking for one - like how do i know if the Gearbox etc is any good - is there a buying guide on this site ? cant find one..? Ta
  16. Well thanks for all of your replies chaps , im in Great Barr - North Birmingham, have never seen a Zed round here to be honest! Thanks Tony but im looking for a UK car for insurance reasons.. only say 20 secs to comply when its almost closing time and im waiting at the bar for a drink paul! Cheers Chaps.
  17. I know what you mean - Mr2's are quite common now - nevr see a Zed though...just checked and the insurance is cheaper than an N/A Import! So it look like its going to be a Turbo anyway! Anyone have any problems with the size of the car?
  18. ok - just realised my spelling in my last post!! just turned the light on so i can see the keyboard!! Another question - i do want a T-bar, i take it the Uk cars came with T-tops too? Heard some rumors about 89-90 cars having dodgy gear boxes too - should i stay away?
  19. ok cheers chaps, so (and sprry fpr my total lack of knowlege) what is the UK TT called? Is the Fairlady an Import or UK? Thanks
  20. Hi all - well its my first post.. dont have a Z yet been looking again today! Have MK2 MR2 N/A at the mo, and finally decided after loads of yes and no(ing) with myself that i needed a Z in my life! Id rather a Turbo but insurnce is a tad pricey - although not out of price range. Question is i suppose, is the N/A Z, gonna be a lot quicker than my MR2 (175bhp N/a) anyone know? Anyone had any experience with both of these cars? What is the standard BHP on a Z N/A? Sorry, not that much knowledge about Z's apart that i want one! Thanks in advance.. Ed
