Hi all! Newbie seeking help!
Hi mate, I bought my very clean N/A (import) for £2.5 but i've still spent another £1000+ in 6 months, it's just the nature of these cars. Also bear in mind that insurance for imports (even the non turbos) can be alot more (about 50% for me) than UK cars. I don't want to put you off, I have no regrets at all, but if you are on a budget, like me, you may have to make a 'few' sacrifices to run your zed properly. :)

Is this a Club?
As a newbie i've been keeping my head down over the past week or so which isn't what this club is all about. I got my Zed from a club member, I've got advice from club members and met club members and can only say positive things about all of the above. It's a great club, best money you can spend as a Zed owner :smw:

Your Favourite Moment From Japfest
My sadistic side says being right next to the tyre wall when a mitsi GTO slammed into it :x: My good side says seeing peach's Zed, his sig is right, it is perfect!

cheap fast little car?
323f GT (1990-1994) FWD, 1.8 140bhp, my old one ran a 15.7 quarter mile with just an exhaust and air filter to increase performance. Only problem is they are getting old and are group 13 insurance. http://www.popuplights.co.uk

Anyone want a standard exhaust?
Well I haven't had any other interest for the exhaust so if it fits in the Zed on wednesday it's all yours Murf. I'll be in touch

Anyone want a standard exhaust?
OK guys, i'll see what interest I have over the weekend and let you know. It will be a case of first come first served (or who ever offers the most beer ;) )

Anyone want a standard exhaust?
I'm getting a stainless system fitted on Wednesday in Cardiff, so the original exhaust (off a 16 year old N/A) is up for grabs. I can't gaurantee it's condition as I haven't had a proper look at it but it seems to be ok (it recently flew through an MOT with almost no emissions). I'm not bothered about getting any money for it just as long as it causes no hassle on my part. Therefore, if it wont fit in the Zed it will need to be picked up in Cardiff on the day (probably lunch time), if it will go in the Zed then it can be picked up from my house in newport or I can bring it to Japfest. PM me if you are interested, i'm going away all weekend but i'll get back to you on Monday. Cheers Russ :smw:

is your Zed ...
My NA is my only car and i love it! I love standing out everytime a pull into the work car park or supermarket etc. The downside is that you will pick up the odd dent and ding which breaks my heart but overall it's worth it. I've thought about getting a sensible car for commuting but I just know that everyday, come sun, rain or snow, i'd just be wishing I'd taken the Zed! :nana2:

Japfest Convoy
I'll be there and the convoy sounds good. I just have to convince the girlfriend that she really wants to get up that early!

Matrix Revolutions
Why did they need 2 sequels? Someone should edit the 2 sequels into one good film (IE take out the cobblers and keep the fights!).

Auto tt vs NA Manual
As an N/A driver I would fully recommend one to you. You'll love the power of a 3 litre engine (with an exhaust and a few other bits you'll be packing around 250bhp remember) and it sounds great to. I do think you'll need a manual box to get the most out of it but just do a manual conversion if you can only find an auto.

Shiny tips
Glenn, i've just emailed prospeed for a price. I've used longlife before and I like to stick with companies I trust but your system seemed good (I could feel the ground rumble before I could see you  ) so I'll check them out. Looking forward to getting it done, my N/A could do with the extra ponies!

Shiny tips
I don't think my pay cheque would cover that! The longlife (from cardiff) is only £550 for a full decat, twin exit system. Had one on my last car and it was great, you get to choose the noise and the look (plus it's much better quality than a powerflow, IMHO). At the moment i'm leaning towards oval or letterbox but then I might just get twin round tailpipes similar to the standard ones only larger diameter.
-
Shiny tips
I'm hoping to get a Longlife exhaust system with my next pay cheque but i'm still undecided as to what tailpipes to have fitted. Twin round (each side naturally), single round, twin square, oval, letter box, Jap, rolled - there's almost too much choice! I'll decide on the day when I can see the full range that they offer but I wonder if anyone had any thoughts. FYI it's a standard looking black N/A on 18's.

Should i switch to a MR2 Turbo??
A 200sx would be more practical than an MR2 but I guess it doesn't have the look of a sports car.

Please help!!!!
done, my kind of favour ;)

Z's & their colour!
The only colour I would change my black one for would be dark green.

Mid Wales weekend MAY 26TH
I'll bring my tent, can't beat a bit of camping. I've got my brother's stag do on the saturday in leamington then Rotorstock @ shakespere county raceway on sunday/monday - what a weekend :nana2: Rotorstock is good if anyone fancys it, the drag strip is fairly quiet so you get plenty of runs for your money. They've even got a drifting circuit you can go on!

Someone's sctrached my Zed!
It's a thin 18" scrap above the passenger side rear wheel arch  Plus they've put a dent in it! You would think that people would notice such a nice car and take a bit of care when parking. It's not the end of the world but it just makes me so mad that people would do that then just bugger off without even an apology. I'm not a violent man but i'd pop them square in the face if i had seen them do it :xxx: I've only had the car a couple of months and it's already had 2 people hit her  It's not always a pleasure to have a zed as a daily driver. Rant over, i'll still have a smile on my face when I drive her all weekend

Help! Convince me I've done the right thing!
Well I don't think you'll escape the big costs these cars have, you just have to be prepared for it! I had a FWD car that I loved before I got my Zed 2 months ago. It's only now that i've started to get anywhere near the performance limits of it and i'm beginning to realise quite how capable it is. I think when you confidence develops in the car you will have a grin on your face everytime you drive it, just like in your CRX :) Another tip is to show the car to everyone you know. They will LOVE it and that's got to make you feel good
