Warranty over 10 years old
I had a wrranty on my Z with Warranty Holdings that I have just let lapse although they offered to renew it. The problem is that with an old car, most failures are put down to fair wear and tear. This is not covered. Most policies ony cover mechanical breakdown. When for example my auto box failed totally. There were no broken gears, just belts, clutches etc, which were not covered, so I had to pay for the repair myself. So take care. Even if you get a warranty it is not full guaranty cover.

350z
Just seen the new Z at Courtesy Nissan. It looks 10 times better in the flesh and is a real stunner, both inside and out. The salesman did not know much about the car and would not even give me brochure. I think that they may have a specialist sales team. The guys on the accessories side are Z enthusiats so that was quite refreshing.

Oil - Do we change too often?
Thanks fellas. I will continue to change the oil as before and certainly will also change it more often than specified in the new car, but at least I have a bit more info than I had before which was the old adage that it is cheaper to change the oil than the turbos and engine. Anyway at just over £20 at Costco Mobil 1 still won't break the bank.

Oil - Do we change too often?
I have had 4 Zs and change the oil and every 3000 miles using Mobil 1 Fully synthetic. I have just bought a 3 litre Peugeot 605 coupe (Its not that bad it does have four pot Brembos and I still have a Z) Anyway back to the question. The Peugeot uses synthetic or semi-synthetic oil and the manufacturers recommended service interval is to change it every 20,000 miles. (The oil, not the car) I know that the Z is an older car, but if oil has improved that much, are we wasting money by changing the oil in our Zs so often?

FindIt
The US versions came with a digital dash. I do not think that they were available in the UK. Anyway I think That they always went wrong. Great cars though. I had three of the later ones. They had cured most of the rust problems when they got to the facelift version. They are a good entry point into Zs as they are cheap to maintain, buy and insure (on a classic policy)

And the bidding starts at £19K!
E Bay were mentioned on Watchdog last night where some people had lost big amounts of money due to some type of fraud. I think they only cover transactions up to about £100. The police and Watchdog had problems getting in touch with E Bay as they did not allow phone contact and did not answer all of their e-mails
