  1. Audi-sport.net is the best one I've been on there 9 years and there's always lots of useful info on there ?
  2. Hello Craig, it's been a while, I may stick around a bit , hope you're well and the family. I do miss the power and taking the t tops off in the nice weather. Most of all I miss the camaraderie of this place. Back in the day it would get pretty crazy here. I dont miss the unreliability and fuel consumption. My current ride is comfortable, loaded with tech and has room for a dog. 204 PS isnt bad I suppose, it's good to be grown up sometimes...
  3. Hi, not posted for a long time as my Z ownership ended in 2009. I was walking through the office today and there was a guy in the HR department who I had never seen before. His desktop wallpaper was a photo of a Z. I asked him if was his car and he replied "no, but I have one just like it". So the ensuing conversation wiped out a good 20 minutes of my busy day! I dont think he's a member on here, but just goes to show these great cars are still around.
  4. :yes:Those were the days mate ;)
  5. One of the first people I met on the Z scene. Craig, Bob and I would sit up into the early hours chatting on ICQ. He was a terrific car and technology enthusiast, but most of all the was a hugely funny and bloody nice bloke. My thoughts go to his family at this awful time.
  6. Looks great, brings back happy memories for me seeing a freshley kitted and painted red zed. You could do with some clear side indicator covers though :)
  7. Nice, wilkommen to the "Ex ZX now Audi Owner Club" :-) BTW audi-sport.net is a great resource
  8. Great episode with the Rover. Really felt for the poor guy who couldn't finish restoring it due to health problems. Great that they got almost 10k at auction and gave the cash to him. Also a happy ending as the car ended up going "home".
  9. OMG the Toolmeister is still around!
  10. Saw the last 20 mins. They did a great job, I loved the colour they painted it.
  11. Wooow, now that is a picture. I'd forgotten how much I loved that car  Yours looked awesome, still got it?
  12. Proper trip down memory lane this. all we need is MAC1 & duffer :dots:
  13. Wow, I certainly do Andy, using Volvic to clean my rims! Must be about 12 years ago at Silverstone? Good to hear from you, hope you're well :)
  14. Thought you'd have slightly earlier than mine :) Long time no see, I'm very well, hope the family are well!
  15. Some of us pop back now and again
  16. Cheers lads :)
  17. This brings back some scary memories - I'd forgotten how bad the standard headlamps on a Z can be! I used to hate the winter months when it got dark early. Dave
  18. Agreed - what a POS that 'phone was, I got mine recycled and got a HTC HD2 and love it.
  19. cheers folks, happy birthday to ChrisC as well :)
  20. You must keep these - I had a set on my Z before I had it scrapped  They have to be one of the nicest-looking wheels about - love that deep dish:-
  21. Picked my new car up, just over a week ago, I couldn't be happier :D It's quiet, comfortable, economic and refined - basically, everything that my old Z wasn't  Here's some piccies:- Cheers, Dave
  22. £18,995 on 24/12/98, lost count of how much went on mods
  23. Great to hear from you Craig - hope you and the family are keeping well! Lisa and I always enjoyed coming to the meets to see you all. I'm afraid nobody showed interest in any parts; there were a couple of enquiries about the entire car though. I took the car to the Audi dealer this afternoon, it wouldn't start at first - I don't think it wanted to go away! the Audi dealer who told me I would receive a "Notification of Destruction" through the post. It sounds a bit harsh! And so ends my Z journey. What have I learned? These cars can be fantastic one day, then break your heart (and bank account!) the next. From having huge performance, to being a non-starter. I will not miss the huge fuel, tyre and garage bills. What I will miss is the sheer thrill of 350+ bhp, driving something which constantly has people gawping in wonder at what they have just seen. Having the targas off in the summer and cruising along. But most of all, I will miss this place and the people who I have met over the years. The friendship and camaraderie I have experienced will never be forgotten. Sitting up 'til 3am chatting with Craig and Bob on ICQ (I'll never forget that 'phone bill - I was still on dial-up!), the party in the Zedworld tent at Billing 2002 with Mark Topless, Duffer and PaulG in the pissing down rain. MAC1 chucking (was it Timmy Turbo?) in the lake at Billing Thanks to you all, for your friendship and help over the years  Dave. p.s. Does anyone know a good Audi form?
  24. The car is going early next week. If anyone wants a cash plus swap for std wheels deal, on a set of Blitz 03's in need of a refurb, you can email me on the address at the start of this thread (thanks moderators). Dave
  25. Hi mate - the car goes on Monday afternoon. I can't remember the offset for the wheels, but they are the correct offset for the Z - Johnny will know what that is! :o Dave
