New to the scene, and am hoping to pick up my first 300zx this weekend, actually looking for some info on them.

 

What power is the 300zx TT anual putting out?

Is there an LSD in them and how tail happy do they get?

The fella im getting the car off says it has an uprated ECU (dunno what make if any) Stage 2 PTU?? Dual air intakes, dump valve (i know no power upgrade and a full exhaust system. Oh also he said a new EFI Loom??

 

What would these mos do for the power and can anyone shed light on any of these mods as to what they are and do?? especially the efi loom and the stage 2 PTU.

hi and welcome . it would be a series 2 ptu not stage 2. and the 300zx tt would be pushing out 280-300 bhp standard. but remember its getting on a bit lol.

they have an LSD as standard but as you can imagine the power will still able to make tha back end go. so be gentle when you first drive it for a while till your totally happy with the power.

the mods you have arnt really power mods unless its complimented with a boost upgrade... have the turbos been replaced/ upgraded.??

Yes there is a LSD and they can be tail happy depending on your tyres

Uprated ecu will be a chip probably, removes the speed limiter and should allow for more boost

Stage 2 ptu, he means series 2 ptu which is just a better unit from a later model.

 

Efi loom? he probably means replacement injector loom

stock TT's will be putting out around 280bhp, they all have LSD's and can be very tail happy if cought out. if the ECU is remapped for higher boost i.e. 14psi then i would have thought you either have a boost controller or boost jets. intakes and dump valves wont increase power but will assist in getting there. series 2 PTU some say is a must so thats good. if you have a well looked after engine at high boost expect anything from 300 to 350+bhp.

No as far as im aware they havent, he said it had a full top end rebuild 3oookms ago, and was apparently bought off someone in the Uk who suppusedly got the work done includining chrome engine detail in zedworld??

 

Would love if someone on here knew the car and confirm the info given to me, as i dont fancy buyin a lemon!!!

Have been in touch and he has been really helpfull although i dont have the full or correct reg on english plates, and i certainly dont know the guy who owned it originally, so i cant give them a name to trace it!

you never know, maybe if you take some pics of spesific mods, it might jog his memory
