Hi all,

I have noticed a petrol smell in my garage the last couple of days. I took the Z out this morning and saw a very small patch on the garage floor which would have been under the rear of the car.

I'd say it was level with the rear wheels, slightly off centre to the right of the car (the opposite side to the fuel filler;)) It does not appear to be losing fuel in any noticable quantity......

Any ideas where it may be coming from?

Thanks,

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Common problem, especially with UK zeds, the petrol tank support straps will have corroded to start with, and in addition grit and rust accumulates under the straps where it bends under it and the flexing of the weak straps rubs away at the tank until very fine holes are revealed.

Seen lots with this problem, petrol tanks sealant is not too clever and the long term fix is a replacement tank and straps, a good used one from an import zed will be ok.
