ok.lol. Just seen the look of it and for a replica i thought it looked great. Is it and MR2 turbo engine that in them?

Oh god no, just buy an MR2 turbo. Everyone will think your a right nobb driving a pretend ferrari that will fool NOBODY!!!!

might just be a kitted mr2, they do look ok but i'd rather have a tasteful mr2 turbo

funny enough i was looking at kits cars the other day JD's fault and saw a couple i liked the look of

there's a couple of fake ferrari's that live near me :slap: so obvious !

so yeah as said i'd get the real deal one day if i could

(and i have sat in one at a show once:) they are a nice motor)

but if not i'd rarther have a decent mr2 !

I had a (genuine) F355 spider back in the early 00's when living in Marbella. Biggest mistake of my life to sell that car when I left :headvswal. Used it daily and never really had a problem with it. It's a bit nervewracking to leave it parked in a carpark or on the street but you soon learn to cope. Running costs were on a par with a (then) £100k car but as it had just had a major service before I bought it I didn't have any major costs other than one set of rear tires and Tubi exhaust (it had to be done ...) It had been my plan to get back into one this year but as business hasn't been what it should have been that plan is now shelved for another year.

Don't whatever you do buy a modded MR2 Ferrari - you'll be kidding yourself with something that vaguely resembles the real deal but sounds and drives like a Nova. Stick with the 300.

Amen 2 that:bow:;)

Hey man dont knock mr2's, mate has a 2ltr na rev 3 and its a very well planted car, with a hump in power it would be very nice indeed.

I just dont like cars with visual mods but nothing to back them up. Engines impress me, fiberglass is just fiberglass.

Yeah - I apologise for knocking the MR2. If it is nicely sorted with engine and suspension mods it's a very nice car to drive. Sorry

I actually think teh mr2 is a very nice car aslong as you get one that has been well looked after, very light, smaller engine, cheaper running costs, imagine it would fly away from a 300 but then it would be over takin by the zed. theres one on piston heads for 4000 that is dinod at 330bhp and also on e a 400bhp

they are nice cars i know a few people with them from various years and yeah they are quick ;)

but buying a mr2 to turn in to a fake 355 is a waste of an already decent car some do look ok but they've usualy also had allot of engine mods

(just my 2p):D

348 and 355 are pretty much evenly matched for handling performance. They use simlar V8 engines. 355 comes with 5 valves per cylinder as opposed to the conventional setup in the 348. 355 has a slightly larger displacement and more power. 355 has more toys, like power steering and ABS, 348 is a very raw car. My friend used to have one and it would kill a Z in the twisties. Absolutely incredible handling. It was better than his Porsche 996 911.

348 would be one of the cars I'd choose as a replacement for my Z along with an NSX. But I've put buying either of those on the back-burner for now.

The fake MR2 Ferrari kits are so cheesey. Whilst from head-on, they are mildly convincing, you get more than about 50 metres for one and they look terrible. Proportions are all off and engine note...well, it's quite obvious then that it's not a Ferrari. Those cost in fitting those kits is absolutely ridiculous though. You see them on ebay all fitted up with price tags of £18k!! £18!?!?!!!?!?

i drove a 355 Berlinetta on one of those driving days. I drove a Gallardo first, which was nice and powerful, but over-computer-assisted. but the 355 was just something else. less powerful but it was like driving a Z in a way, raw bum-on-tarmac power. id buy one if I had the money!

I have been looking at the MR2's now and think if i could i would quite fancy getting one only if it was as quick or quicker than the zed tho as i can see the running cost alot cheaper in one of them.lol. Very intrested tho.

I've had both, actually still got the mr2. So i'll try and give you some first

hand experience...

If you buy one thats been tuned enough to outrun a z, then the running costs

will be horrendous!

An mr2 is about acceleration & driveability, sure it will outrun a z upto

around 80-100mph, then the z will just sail past it, depends what you class

as being 'faster than a z'.

The 'book speed' for an mr2 turbo is 149mph, 0-60 5.9sec, as you can see,

they are no slouch! Although i've never met anyone who's done 150mph in

one yet, anything above 110-120 and things start getting scarey!

Why people keep comparing an mr2 & a z is beyond me, they are two

completely different cars.

If running costs are your priority, then maybe a z tt isn't for you, maybe an

n/a z? The mr2 turbo is reasonably good on fuel, 29mpg'ish...

Whichever you choose to buy, make sure you do your homework and get

a good one, both are great cars, but both can be money pits if you buy

a lemon.

If you want any more info on mr2's, drop me a pm.

Running cost arent a problem, i have a z32 and quite happy with it doesnt use as much fuel as i thought.lol. I was just wondering about mr2s, imagined that they would be cheaper to run but i guess not, quite happy with my zed anyways going to the garage soon for some body work:D!!!

i plan to get a second car but it's only to save the mls on the Z until the big build lol

what body work u gettin done?

New bumper to raise mines as i cant go over speed bumps, passenger wing sprayed and removing the spoiler and spraying the back:D!

lol what spoiler u removing? is it stock?

I dont now what the spoiler is mate, its from japan, reckon its the only one in uk now.lol. Its pritty big so was looking to remove the weight to go quicker:D:D!! The spoiler is in all the racing car games with 300zx in it.
