Hi

Finally Got my new dump valves fitted tonight:D Sound awesome when they go off:hyper:

Anyways, this has never happened but thought it was coming. When the car was left ticking over itself it seemed to sound like it was ready to stall on itself, but would kick into life.

Then when driving it tonight the car cut out on me when i stopped at traffic lights.

Was told by my mate who was in the car to have my idle control valve checked first then my leads and distrubutor cap. Was wondering if this is true and if anyone else has had this problem. Also if this is to be done what would it take to do it? be put in a garage? would it be expensive?

Cheers

What type of valve are they? unless they are piston type designed to work with afm equiped cars they will leak at idle and cause the very issue you have.

check your EGR valve, but from what you posted earlier about the car hesitating being driven when cold did you check for boost/air intake leak. Pinch the hose from the PCV valve if the engine revs higher you've got a leak.

You don't have leads and a distributor cap. You have coil packs instead.

But it won't be any of these. If the problem has only started when you fitted the dump valves then you need to investigate a leak in them. Are they adjustable ones ?. I know I had a similar problem and I had to adjust them as they were letting air out under pressure.

Have you removed the recirc valves and blanked the pipes off ? (this needs to be done with BOV)

If you have, then check for leaks from the blanks you used.

Yeah the pipe was blanked off. After investigating there the air filter t piece hose has a tear in it, could this be a problem causing the leak? Was wondering does anyone have a spare for sale? And yes they are adjustable BOV's, going to losen the tension in the spring today to see if it runners better.

the air filet pipe at the front, rubber pipe its like a t piece.

There won't be a geat deal of pressure in that hose, so you could use some strong duck tape to seal it for now to see if that cures your problem while you wait for a replacement.
