whats a million miles in fuel?!

at just 8 MPG

A FOOOOKIN LOT

Highest mileage car I've ever owned was a Citroen BX TZD. Was an H-reg. Had it about 6 years ago and paid a measly £70 for it. Just a DD beater. Nearly 200k on the clock. I blew it up on the M4. I was going fast enough though, so that when the headgasket went, I was still at decent enough revs to keep some compression. It kept running for a bit with smoke and steam pouring from the car. All good fun.

8 mpg is probably a good figure. With modern diesel engines in comercials they are designed to be more efficient exhaust wise and not more efficient in relation to mpg. I know from past experience that you can reprogram an Engine ECU from Euro 1 emmisions to Euro 2 and even although the tax is cheaper it will cost you 1 mpg (on the other well known Swedish truck/bus manufacturer). Logic there somewhere!

Enough warbling.

Cheers John

A million miles!!! Thats a lot of dead prostitutes:wack::rofl:

LMFAO

ffs steve didnt think that was possible!!! and some of them on the bog roads over here!! should count for double

I owned a Volvo 740 estate, when I sold it 10 years ago it had 260k miles on the clock, and its still going strong today, god knows what the mileage is now.

I knew someone who had a mid 90's BMW 2.5 diesel estate thing (E36?). Anyway, one day the ECU packed up and BMW wanted something like £2.5k for a new one. He managed to find a 2nd hand one from somewhere in Belgium for about £800 and then he thought, "What the hell, it's done 430,000 miles, maybe I ought to buy a new car ..."

try this for kms...!
