I have made the (momentous) decision to convert from auto to manual. After having an auto for 3 years and gradually upgrading engine & suspension i now reckon the time has come to convert because the manual surely offers that much more control, involvement and power.

What's the opinion on the forum? Am I the first in the UK? If you have dunnit, are you pleased you did?

P.S. See my auto box in the sale/wanted forum.

AFAIK, an AUTO ECU will work without any problem in a MANUAL car.

The opposite is NOT true !!

Zee you

Henri

Good job really - there's no way I'd put a 'sludgy' auto box in my car!!! ;)

I have one of the Race Technology performance meters - maybe we should do some testing, because I haven't had an opportunity since I bought it.

Andy, you bought one? I thought the full kit was £3-4K. If it's the £120 dashtop unit, is it all selfcontained anmd functional?

Nico

Since you mentioned way above that you had a flameproof suit on I could not resist studying your neat graphic a little closer.

From the speed indicated and the rpm showing is it that:

a) Its a photo of the dash of a hot 465hp automatic Z flat out on a test track. 6300rpm=176mph

b) Its a photo of of same for a manual with an over reading speedo 6300rpm=161mph true

c) Its a faked up graphic done on a pc

d) None of the above!

Still looks good though Nico!!!

It's a pic of an UK spec , auto, modded Z (unfortunately, by supershit = 1 byte modified, speed limiter removed) on a german Autobahn.

And the driver LIFTED the gas pedal to take the pic...

How d'ya know that???? The turbo guage is still 'up there'!!!

Provided we're speaking about the same picture (the one on www.nema.com/300zx), I know it because

- I know the owner of the car

- I know the car

- I know where this pic was taken

- I know HOW it was taken

- I edited the original scan

- I made it available to the internet

and....BTW, the boost is NOT "till 'up there'!!"....in a modded Z, the boost gauge is usually completely maxed out by the new boost value

Zee you

Cheers Craig,

My point exactly!! ;)

Ok, so maybe it's my bad english, or maybe it's because I speak mostly american english, or maybe I should try to express myself in my mother tongue.....anyway...

During the pic, the driver decided not to stay PEDAL DOWN TO THE METAL, he was NOT WOT while fiddling with the camera....

he lifted the gas pedal a LITTLE BIT...that explains why even if the boost is still above the stock boost, it's not close to the max boost this car was able to produce

thats interesting, how did he take the photo in negative mode, and where did he get the cool 3d sticker on the bottom right of his clocks, it must be distracting, to be driving whith that there, .!!

if that boost guage stayed at that point when the driver took his foot of the accelerator, i will eat every person's pile of shit on this forum!!

Warren, I had a deadly vindaloo last night and i'm about 3 farts away from a volcanic download! You might want to withdraw that statement m8. Anyway, after what you said about white Z's I don't think you are worthy to eat my sh*t LOL.

Andy

ps. sorry to lower the tone on this thread.

oh andy i meant to retract my thing on the white z.

it only applies to U.K spec, 300's.

anyway so long as you have a super dragger than you more then make up for it lol.

ill only have that vindaloo if you can make it look presentable, lol

Ok ok,

First of all its white zeds, then its UK spec 300s - can you narrow it down to my car any more???? lol

ok ok ok im narrowing this down once and for all.

ITS CRAIG'S Z thats it, all the other whie ones are nice,

craigs one just has no style lol lol, he he he
