I have mild tractor knowledge. When I was a kid, a friend and I restored a few old classic tractors. I was brought up in rural Glastonbury and we had plenty of moor-land roads to use them on and shows in the summer months. Loads of land and storage for this kinda thing. Was quite cool. Used to take it to a few shows. I forget the model names, but we did 3. A Massey Ferguson, and 2 old Fordsons. Lost contact with him now, but I think he's still got all of them.

I used to have a 1952 Fergy which was started on petrol and then switched over to diesel for normal running. The nice thing about tractors is that the MoT test does not apply and most are now tax exempt. Getting parts and information is also difficult and if you are saying that yours was manufactured in 1936, you are going to have trouble especially being of French manufacture. assembling a tractor will not be easy as the engine, gearbox and axle assembly form the basic frame / chassis, and weigh an awfull lot. Exhaust systems are difficult to source and so are some tyre sizes, which on the rear will be expensive. that said the mechanicals and the electrics are very basic and easy to setup ready to run. On older tractors, they will not start in gear, or unless the clutch is depressed, on a Fergy there was a seperate position on the gear gate for starting. Good luck with your project.

if you get stuck bud look me up as my mate adam fixes farm equipment, tractors and the like...he lives in lewes and has a workshop

cheers
