I'm keen to learn the practical side of building engines, i have good basic skills. Helped my dad build a number of engines, just not one by myself:

I've got two questions:

- Is the VG30DETT too complicated engine to do my first solo?

- What was your first engine build, what would be a good cheap engine to rebuild before attempting the ZX?

Ive rebulit Lotus Sunbeam, RS 2000 x 2, rover engines and a few others.

When i did my TT zed, it looked very very awkward, but as long as you list the bits your removing. i put parts in clear plastic bags with all nuts and bits.

And took plenty of pics. Great feeling when you have done it yourself and it works.

me and west decided to strip his engine down still in the car, not really a good idea thats one bit of advise we should have listened to, extreme amount off nuts/bolts and attachments, a careful plan and plenty help.
