you need to have the motor running to check level after going from lock to lock 4-6 times then re-check with motor still running

Any excessive noise from the pump when turning ?

Tbh..PAS faults are more often than not an electrical fault. The system is speed sensitive and if it loses speed signal it reverts to a heavy PAS state.

Pump, no change of noise

has not got a converter as it is still restricted but it has had the speedo dial face changed aparantly

What does the Face read up to ? if its more than 120mph (eg. 160 - 180mph) then its got some sort of converter or resistor modification.

Cant get to go faster than 115-20 sussexstu said the other day its not been deristricted

as far as i can tell the whole car is comp/ standard

I mean what does the speedo face go up to....not the car. If its in MPH, does the speedo show numbers only up to 110mph, or does it go right up to 180mph, as you cant just change the face without fitting a speedo convertor or it wont be correct.

yeh, there is a Nismo 300kph aftermarket speedo available. Its pretty rare though and its just a stock speedo, with 300kph faces and a different resistor.

So do i need to replace a resistor or the whole speedo gauge

Yep all works fine ,so i am going to take the rack off and get it refurbished ,just to be sure thanks for the help

i would check wiring, connectors and solenoid first, solenoids can be good for breaking down when they get hot ,couple of miles driving and some cool air over soleniod cools it down and it starts working again.

Can you tell me where the solenoid is , as after a short drive it clears thanks

its on steering rack drivers side where steering columb connects to rack.
