Turbos or injectors aint good for 16 and you are scrimping on £100 to keep on running the stock ecu, whole thing seems pointless?

I dont believe it personally, but even if there is sufficient mapping in place to handle that high boost there are plenty of benefits to a remapped chip for the sake of £70-£100. Speed limiter removed, rev limiter increased, and better performance from optimising the fuel and timing compared to stock.

this made me laugh :

They said the off-road exhaust alone gave them 60 hp.

:rofl:

Not scrimping on anything nor am I disputing the benefits of a chip> I was just reading through old stuff dude and looking at the stock ecu fuel map potential

Would be interesting to see the magazine article it came from

go run flat out for 15-20 seconds, running 14+ psi of boost on a stock ECU, 15+ year old car/engine/fuel-system and see what happens....

Probably the same thing as with a mapped ECU :nelson: You'll go faster and not a lot else.

Ffs. Wish I'd never brought it up.I though it was an interesting read. It was not my intention to "try this at home" or recommend anyone doing so, read my original post :headvswal :headvswal . I posted it to see if anyone else had heard of this or read the article to see if it had any true substance

you learn quickly young sky walker

best to keep mouth shut, it is

lol:rofl::rofl:

LOL! this *is* a discussion forum, you dont have to take it personally!! :D

I was thinking this as my mate reckons a remap without any other mods would still make a decent difference, one thing to note is he doesn't do Jap cars mainly German (he drives an RS4)

does anyone agree as i have no idea

Cheers

OneSHOT

Running one of my chips without a boost increase seems to make a small difference, never dyno'd it for exact measurements though. All the modified map is doing is making it safer to run higher boost.
