According to the model Variations thing

Here

http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm

It says that the series 2 was until september '93 and then untl october '94 it was a series 3, is that correct? That would mean that my car is actually a series 3 and not 2 :)

Some of the various things are different though if u have a uk spec car.

Cause mine is a 1991 UK model with orignal shell and my seat belts are on the pilars.

Sorry Bird, yours would be a Series 2 still, as it has Hydraulic Hicas and the Series 1-2 spoiler. THats the 2 big differences between series 2 and 3.

You need to check the date of manufacture to verify for certain which model it is and even then there is room for discussion a month or so each side of the changeover as parts were used up etc.

The date of manufacture was 31-12-93 if that tells you anything

Just Checked yours pics, definately Hydraulic hicas.

the date of manufacture is not accurate, all imports say 31-12-XX on them for whatever year it is.

Didnt later cars have arm rests on the door panels as well.

as an option. Mines a series 4 and i dont have them. Think UK's had them though

Legrath, I don't have any engine bay pictures of the blue one on here - it is the Blue UK one your talking about and not the black one isn't it?

The date of manufacture is very accurate, just don't get it from the DVLA.

Thats what I said..or meant anyway - Date of manufacturer from DVLA is not accurate, they always say the same date of the year - 31st Dec

Don't think they really changed 'till S4 though.

Never seen either on an L-reg car.
