Ive got a 92 tt auto ive started to fit a set of dump valves, and ive noticed the oil cooler is quite small.

My question is, does the oil cooler cool the oil for the engine and gearbox or just the engine is it worth upgrading to a 10 or 11 row oil cooler.

And my last question is, can i just remove the standard oil cooler and replace it with the new one and use the same rubber pipes.

The Autobox oil cooler is built into the end tanks of the Radiators.

The Engine oil cooler is the one under the nose panel.

Its a good idea to upgrade both. A 19row oil cooler for the engine, and something like a 10 row oil cooler for the autobox.

The stock pipes can be used, but they may not reach the new oil cooler becuase it will be taller. But you will notice that the oil cooler pipes are rubber from the sump to the Crossmember, then they are metal, then they are rubber from the crossmember to the oil cooler. You can just use longer pieces from the metal pipes on the crossmember to the oil cooler.

19 row oil cooler, would that be ok for around 400 bhp, this is all new to me ,its a learning curve, iam trying to do most of the jobs myself, the only way to learn, and also a little help from fellow members of course.

How can i upgrade the auto box coolers with a 10 row cooler iam dont quite understand, can i take a feed to a new cooler or ???.

Yep 19row is perfect size. Any smaller and it wont be as efficient and any larger it becomes more of an air obstruction to the radiator.

Similar to the Engine cooler pipes, It uses metal hardpipes from the gearbox to the crossmember, and you just use new 10mm hose.
