i do, at the end of the day it would be my choice, if like the rugby player i became paralysed fro the neck down, i would seriousely consider going to the clinic in switzerland or if i got some disese that meant i would definately die a terrible death

I totally agree it should be your choice, it would be me and my family suffering so I don't see why someone who doesn't know me should have the right to make that decision.

exactly, its not just me that it wuld affect, i would like to have a nice dignified death with family and friends around me. Not pissing and shitiing myself in constant agony surrounded by people that dont understand and are embarrased by the sight of you

stephen hawking and the diving bell and the butterfly guy are incapacitated but they didnt go that far

i think he was depressed...the rugby fella....which is understandable but i wouldnt want to see my kids top themselves or vice versa

The topic has so many pros and cons, i could'nt possibly give a definitive answer!

 

My biggest concern is - who does the honours? Who are the people who can live with themselves! I know that in alot of cases its for the best etc.... but i think something like that could eat at you for the rest of your life! I'm not sur i could do something like that!

 

However i could happily put a bullet thru a pedo/murderers head! I could justify that in my mind!

If you wanna top yourself for whatever reason if your gonna do then uthenasia is the way forward, no splttered boddies to clean up after jumping off cliffs, walking infront of trains. No one to find you haning from the rafters. Also its done properly and painlesly.

Yes I agree with it. if I was dying and in lots of pain, or if I was losing my mind, to some brain disease. we wouldn't allow an animal to live and suffer, so why a human.

Why should someone else who doesnt know you or know what you are feeling make the choice of whether YOU live or not. Yes people you leave behind will be hurt, but that suffering and pain with time goes. Its just like anyone dying really. Time heals.

I think it should be down to your own choice but everycase is different and it's not possible to give a definitive answer on it IMO.

I agree too.... I think the case of the thirty something bloke would be in the minority of cases, the majority would be in the final stages of a terminal disease...... and the only decent thing to do would be to end the "suffering". If I had only days to live in and in a lot of pain I wouldn't want people standing round looking at me...... just give me an extra hit of "Morphine".... Jobs a gooden!!!
