Ive got large hexagonal nuts (:nelson:) that keep the hub/cover on and the spanner is a plastic ring spanner but it doesnt fit. Ive been round all the local places and they dont know where to get these spanners. The nut is 75mm across and the only spanners ive seen are 60mm and 80mm.

Any idead where i can get one??

and Place a bit of cardboard between the teeth to protect the nut

or maybe one of those rubber band type grips

yep, Good idea, maybe even an old fan belt (twist it around it to tighten and pull it round), or an oil filter remover.

I would sort it out now. When you get a puncture you would normally be away from home and the opportunity to improvise will be less. One of those strap type oil filter removers would do the trick I would think. Buy one and keep it in the car.
