Been suffering with bouts of insomnia for most of my life. Gotten worse as I’ve got older, probably as stress levels have gone up. I take sleeping pills but I'll still have 1/3d of the week without sleep.

I've developed tinnitus too over the past few years. That's nearly as frustrating as the long sleepless nights that I get used to.

Just wondering if anyone else suffers from it.

Wish I was one of those people that could just fall asleep anywhere, anytime etc. Even on good nights, it takes me a few hours to get to sleep.

Due to having to take a mate to hospital last night, I've actually now been up 36hrs and still can't sleep. Ran out of sleeping tablets!

LOL! Strange you should say that as, unlike most people, alcohol actually makes sleep EVEN worse for me. To the point where I rarely drink anymore. My system's going to take a battering next week as Jimmer and I are off out with Glenn in Cardiff! Not been out for AGES!

Where???!!! I'm out next Sat as i've been on teh wagon for a month and dieting and swimming. Back to 16stone now so will beletting off some steam! Tell Glenn to buzz me as he has my no.!!!

Have you tried exercise after work. I've been swimming a few nights now and sleep like a baby after that!

No tinnitus (though being in a band I imagine it's only a matter of time... :( ) but I've been an insomniac since about 18, but it's only been really bad in the past 7 years. Often awake till 6am in the morning at best. Some nights, not a wink of sleep. The days after are always very, very strange.

For me it's a combination of stress and medication that causes it.

Try green tea Si. I hate the stuff, but when i get real bad insomnia, it always seems to work for me

im usually not a good sleeper, but played 3 hours of table tennis last night, got home and i was instantly out....

Yep, just got some, as knowing that the ringing in your ears after a rehearsal/gig is a frequency you'll apparently never hear again was starting to worry the hell out of me (not sure if that's true but it worked all the same!)

There's a condition for that. I think it's called 'Bruxism' or something. Where you grind your teeth in your sleep.

I grind my teeth aswell, cant do it when I'm awake tho,lol...when I was younger had a gum shield made to fit my bottom teeth to try and break the habit, but I couldnt stand wearing it so I never did

When my marriage broke up after 30 odd years I was totally f@cked up, couldnt sleep even after drinking for an Olympic gold medal every night. I then met this woman (professionally) who calmed me right down and she recommended a book 'self hypnosis' by Valerie Austin. Never looked back. I even now have all my treatment at the dentist without any injections, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment. I had 27 stitches recently without any anaesthetic. Cracking book for sleeping problems too. Get one Si.

Wish I knew what that was.
