this garage won't fix it at all - they say I have to take it away and do it myself :headvswal

But I knew the car needed nothing major - it has been a great car! and to think I was going to sell it for peanuts to buy an S4! I think I will keep itfor fun and buy the S4 anyway!

The z32 really is the must fun you can have without a paddling pool, golden syrup and a big bag of feathers!

Did i say that or just think it???????

Steve,

Think twice about taking the car away. I've just had this issue with an MOT on my Jeep. Failed on a cracked wheelnut (yes, really ...) Took it away to get another one from a scrap yard, took the car back the next day and had to pay full whack for the retest. Only then was I told that had I left the car on their premises I would have had 10 days to get the problem sorted and a free retest. Barstewards! I would check with the garage what their policy is and get it in writing. In fact, IIRC it was printed on the reverse of the failure notice (the red copy).

Other than the above, I'm glad it wasn't anything major!

Regards,

Dan

ok - luckily I still had a spare set of wheels with good tyres in the garage, so swapped them over. While it was up on the stands I noticed that my shocks are bilsteins - so right result there - I have swapped the bulb and fixed the hazard light switch.

The garage seemed really nice and there will be no retest fee - so all in all a very good day!

Tomorrow I will have 13 months MOT because I still have a month to go on mine!

I thought by law you have 24hrs to get it fixed if you take it away. Then after the 24hrs you have to do the full retest again

Well that what every garage has always told me and done for me
