Chris_300
Two of the bulbs for the guages kept flickering so I took the pod out and cleaned them today. Put it all back together though and now it the lights don't work?? Is there a fuse that I coul have blown and if so does anything else run off it so I can see if it is the fuse?? Cheers
petes21st
Standard gauges?
Chris_300
They are indeed standard guages but with LED bulbs
groover
Leds in the back of the dash to light the guages? or you talking about the pods. Leds in the dash: will only work one way round due to the polarity unlike a normal bulb, if you took them out to clean, you may have put them in the wrong way round, take them out and turn 180deg to work. all the best Graham
Chris_300
Its the LED's behind the speedo and Rev counter etc Have taken them out and turned then round but still nothing :-( Is there a fuse I could have blown, can't see that one has gone looking at the fuse panel though
groover
If all the dash and pod lights are off, it will be a fuse in the kick panel. Some fuses look ok till you take them out, some spade fuses have an arc and some have an "S" shape. The arc ones you can plainly see if they are gone without taking the fuse out, the "S" blows or breaks usually at the bottom of the "S" which you cant see unless you remove the fuse. Unless you have a major problem, i wouldnt have thought the leds will have blown, it should be the top row and 3rd one in iirc.
Chris_300
well it's not the fuse, had a play last night and got one bulb working, if one is not inserted right though will the stop others working?? At the moment only the one by the temp guage works!! Think I will have to try new bulbs tonight Thanks for the help!
groover
The bulbs are independent of each other, so if one works, sounds like the others have blown. Very unusual for an led to blow though. Good luck Graham
Chris_300
Cheers Groover Tooko it apart again and checked every whole last night. Seems that 3 of the LEDS have blown, 1 was in the wrong way round!! Can't believe it's blown 3 LED's, any ideas what may have caused that, just have to find soem new ones now oh and sort out those pesky platic dwarfs with axes that are running round the garden breaking bulbs!! damn them!! groover
Leds tend to be reliable on the whole, but it could have been anything from cheapo or badly put together, i wouldnt have thought it would be anything in the dash that would have caused them to blow, apart from metal touching some of the tracks which do carry voltage and causing a surge or short. Check the link on the led thread for new ones, 5 way leds, 5 for about a fiver. Cheers Graham
AndyP
Lots of those LED bulb replacements are very cheaply made and don't fit the holders at all well. The fact that they were flickering beforehand and yet others were ok is evidence of that. Sometimes they just need a bit of a jiggle !
