This is an actual video clip from Iraq and not a joke. This is unreal, 2.5 miles away, at night and it looks like they are right there.

The pictures were taken from an AC130 Specter gunship two and a half miles away. The guys in the picture are setting up a roadside bomb and planning to ambush an American convoy which followed a short while after the pictures were taken. They were setting up for the ambush and were pacing off the distance from the bomb to where the convoy was to pass by.

Turn your sound up. The level of effort these crews put forth to control the enemy's antics is commendable and their marksmanship with those electronically controlled 40 mm cannons is astounding.

One guys just kept saying "smoke em" no matter what was going on. Kinda trigger happy I think.

Seen this about a year and a half ago.............

That's not an AC-130 gunship :nono:- but I know what it is;).....................vvvv

They also fook up on the engagement - at approx 2mins 11 secs you can hear the gun but see no fall of shot......becuase they don't get it right:rolleyes:

Yeah seen that before as well and its deff not the AC-130 gunship.

I agree with Phil what it is lol and it's a 30mm chain gun firing, they fook up because they hadn't ranged it:nono: so they switch to auto range.

I used to have this on my mobile phone. How did they know 100% that was a weapon that the guy threw on the ground? :D

Old one there. Highly debated at the time. By all accounts, it may even be illegal under the USMCJ, as there was no apparent direct threat to the aircrew or otherwise. Also the chances of them even being aware of the presence of that aircraft at 2.5 miles out are low.

It depends on the version you watch. There is a short one with a warning to terrorists at the start, all very gung-ho. The longer version shows a lot of nothing going on. Looks suspiciously like farmers with either irrigation pipes/ guide markers for the tractor/ some other tool.

I have been working for the US Army for 5 years, including in the sand, and I doubt even they would be running a convoy through the middle of a ploughed field. They tend to stick to improved / compacted road surfaces precisely so that they have a better chance of spotting where IEDS may have been buried.

Even I could see that was a 'snooker cue' of mass destruction.

I didn't hear them say, '"Excuse me, armed officers, move away from the V-E-H-I-C-L-E-, drop your weapons, you have the right to remain silent, you have the right to an attourney, if you cannot afford one we'll supply one, anything you say,.... Oh crap - smoke 'em!!!"

You dont know for a FACT, That was a weapon, I was in the Infantry for 14 years, and I know the rules of engagment. although, they were American, and they have different rules. they probably thought they were british troops. :nelson:

If that's what a 40mm cannon does to the opposition I think I want one for the front of my Zed. I'll declare it to the Insurance comp of course. I'll call it a 40mm lowering device. It certainly lowers..................
