i rekon you could get 6x9 in at a squeeze

Yes, this is possible but it is a very tight squeeze. You'll need to fabricate new brackets as a 6x9 won't fit in the standard bracket. Also, be very aware that the passenger side speaker space is not nearly as deep as the driver size and you may end up having to bash the metal down (it's ok - it is only the wheelarch). For the amount of noise you're going to be getting from the rear speakers you may as well go for the standard 6x4 jobbies. The "sound stage" is up front so spend more money on those speakers.

JBL do a great fit speaker for the rears, had those fitted on my last one and i have some infinity ones hooked up in the back of mine at the moment.

Mine are JBL GTO6426e's. Very good. But as Dan says, it's the fronts that you want to concentrate on.

My JBL's at the rear are good quality, but because of the size and shape, they'll never set the world alight.

My Kenwoods at the front make ALL the difference!

What have you got at the front, as i am thinking of replacing my fronts again, but i want to do it right!
