I've got my mind set on a zed but a few people have suggested to me a 3000gt or gto. I don't particularly like the look of the Mits (or should I say I much prefer the look of the zed). But what are they like to drive? I know the stats are similar for the TT models for performance but real world?

I love the gto. but have heard that they are quite slow when on the move also the 4wd and 4ws is surpose to make it feel funny in the twisties. but i could be wrong ????

They are much harder to work on than a zx and thts saying somthing.

One parked next to me the other day in asda and as for compairing looks the Gto looked soft.

Also the TT is 4wd and the n/a is FWD :hurl:

yeah i only relised the fto's were fwd the other day, how crap are they lol!

I liked them also til i found that out. if they'd have had rwd and a pair of tubs they could have been very cool

theres a couple near me more of a common site on the rd than a z32 i like the looks of the gto but think the fairlady topp's it in more ways than one !

Yeah, the Z engine is far superior to the GT3000/GTO.

But not forgetting the GTO is still a very nice car.

yep still a v nice motor! have never been to fussed over the fto though

I like the look of the FTO but there to slow and fwd. But the V6 does sound very nie. Nothing comparied to the bigger jap cars tho

i had a tt gto for a month was quick but the horror stories i heard and the other gto owners i talked to made me sell ive had 2 zeds with no problems and have thrashed them around a lot and im looking for my third so that should tell you something!

yeah i like the sound of some ive heard ! but just cant take to the looks!! (personal pref though an all that )

I drove one when i was looking for a Z , its very good but in a detatched way whereas the Z just feels connected if thats the right way to describe it, the only thing about the gto is that its more capable in the wet

theyre nice cars but a bit lego-ey with all the vents etc. i think theyre a little faster to 60, but as for the quarter mile theyre much slower than the Z. as for FTOs a mate of mine recently got a black one and it does look nice - a little underpowered for its agressive look though. still I wouldnt kick one out of bed for a daily driver ;)

Hi,

The Jap import GTO Non-turbos are also all wheel drive...same as the TT model. It was in the USA where there was a basic fwd NA model sold!

Cheerz,

Jez.

I stand corrected. i knew there was a fwd gto tho.

How slow would a na 4x4 be :wack:

fwd gto n/a what fun would that be? may as well have a horse and cart :headvswal :slap:

ive got a gto mate,

had a zed too,

both as nice as eachother, 4wd is good in the wet, hate the dashboard of the gto.

both cars have their problems, not as slow as some people think.

The GTO is a heavy old beast, very lardy compared to the Zed. Has the intiial grip advantage but not as quick on the move.

Its also a pig to work on.....did some stuff on a NA GTO (4wd) once and never again ! Everything was a pita from Taking the interior apart to basic engine maintenance. Drove ok, but pretty boring I thought.

Have never really liked them though. Exterior is full of plastic cheap looking vents, and the interior is pretty dissmall.

dont agree fully with legrath regardinlg the engine as the same goes for the zed, the although the n/a gto has more space to work on than the turbo GTO, can be boring in the terms of no drifting.

rear of a zed looks newer though when you got 99 spec.

Look at legraths interior, you wont find it better on the GTO.

dont forget you can get the light weight version of the gto called the MR.

here are the newer spec gto's conversions can be done on the old too

id say you drive both, although you may like the zed more.

I think the Gto looks newer (none pop up lights)

The latest GTO Vr4 is just stunning

your right mate, it does and not many peope know there were ones that looked like that.

i have the pop up will post a pic of it soon, not better than the pics above though, and more people liked my zed than my GTO.nothing beats a wide arch zed.
