I know not everyone likes the bonnets lifted at the rear by the hinges, but I did mine on Sunday.

My car always runs with the temp gauge perfectly horizontal when nice and warm, now it runs just below horizontal. So the lift is making a usefull difference.

As our cars get way too hot under the bonnet I think this is a cheap and effective thing to do.

Compared to some of the snow plough bumpers, jumbo rear wings and double ugly sill extensions some people fit I dont see it being that bad.

Thanks.

They may well look great, and they do, but the chrome is coming off after less than a year.

I will put some up later.

Unfortunately, chrome plated, diamond cut, polished and polished/lacquered really aren't suitable for our climate. I'm lucky with mine that I never leave it outside, drive it in the wet or salty conditions, so they stay looking good.

Chrome plating alloy isn't the easiest process and the chrome never really bonds to the metal. They'll tend to be coated in copper first, then chrome plated on top.

All this talk of vents gives me just the excuse i need to post another picture of mine !
