Im after a new cheap daily runaround - I would really love a pwerful sleeper - i.e. A car that looks pretty anonymous but is kick ass quick. The more anonymous and the more powerful the better!!

What would you guys go for?

The 225 sport probably. Will win on a traffic light grand prix, but mid-range, you'll reel him back. 0-60 is a second slower than than the Z. Z32 TT manuals aren't great off the lights unless you have a good launch technique.

Yea it was the 2005-present Mégane Trophy: 3.5 L 24-valve V6, 330 hp, thats why LOL!

Wouldn't have been that. That car was never manufactured for the road. Race prep-only, tubular chassis, plastic body etc. It would be strictly illegal to drive on the road.

No, it would have been the 2.0 turbo.

Ah i see, well i tell you what, i was upset when he put his foot down, he went alot quicker than me!! :x:

They are quick. Astra VXR is of similar performance, slightly more. I know someone who's got one, had a remap, freer flowing exhaust and a little more boost and it's knocking on the door of stock Z power. In a lighter car that's a bit performance gain over a Z. So it doesn't take a lot.

I would suggest a SAAB 9-5 Aero the mid range grut is superb and with a maptun or abbott racing upgrade an absolute rocket. Or if on a budget SAAB 9000 Aero again with maptun or abbott racing easly 300bhp with change from £1500 that includes the car:shock:.

My daily ride is a 9-5 aero estate with maptun stage 3 and has shown a clean pair of heels to many a modded impreza/boy racers.

I used a SAAB 9000 aero standard as a track car fantastic on the straights but to big & heavy for the corners but again boy racers in redtop corsa's and standard subaru's had no match on the straights.

And all of the above in the comfort of a large leather armchair( best car seats I have ever sat in):D

would rather but a standard example and do the mods myself, that one will have had its nuts ripped off.

Was cruzing autotrader a while ago and the saab did tick all the boxes, good economy, insurance group low and speed excellent, but it is FWD and saab have kept the same boring dash for the last 2 million years!!!!

Got to be the Aristo mk1 for me that has the supra tt lump in it. Fantastic power as standard plus can be easily tuned for a lot more power and you dont see many around.
