fitting a manual gearbox

hi guys, im getting trouble getting the input shaft lined up with the clutch, it seems the gearbox is hitting the top of the transmition tunnel; an it still needs to go up 10mm to enter :headvswal

 

is there a knack for doing this? any suggestions?

    Lower the subframe. Undo the 2 rear nuts, enough for the subframe to drop but keeping the nuts still on the end of the bolts.

     

    It will angle the engine down a bit, helping to get the gearbox lined up without hitting transmission tunnel
