couple things first off will any of these have any unexpected problems i.e hard to get at wierd shaped bolts etc...

 

any tips?

plugs are easy, just have to remove the ballence bar to get to the back ones. its all very straight forward really. No funny bolts or anything.

 

To replace/clean the gearbox filter you need to drop the gearbox sump. There is also a magnet in the gearbox sump you will want to clean up that collects all the shite.

go slow and easy on the coil pack connectors when taking them off they are brittle buggers...snap them and you'll be cursing also the square circlips they go ping, never to found again...oh what joy :D

 

auto gearbox oil change is a pig if you drop the sump...very very messy...you'll need a gasket if you do take the sump off...if not you can take the gearbox oil return line off the gearbox cooler (its combined with the radiator...dual core type rad's in auto's its the bottom hose on passenger side of the rad) stick another hose on the pipe sticking out of the rad secure with a jubiliee clip etc and run it into a tub / large container then turn over the engine with the handbrake on wheels chocked and in drive (this will turn the torque converter over) and it will pump the atf fluid out....at the same time you have to fill fresh atf in via the dipstick tube (funnel required)...as the oil coming out into the tub becomes fresh and pink stop the engine reconnect the return line...check the levels and top up if required...jobs a good un :)
