Can we get a Name and shame section for good and bad experiences of garages? I see this rule applies for pepole who sell items like here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=64841 but not garages

Was thinking for garages that have excessivley overcharged for work carried out missed vital checks and blown your car up whilst taking £4.5k off you leaving you in a positition of court proceeding potentially costing £4k to recover £4.5k still trading with a grand name???

We don't have garage traders on the forum anymore, and people are allowed to recommend garages.... (or warn in your case of any bad ones)

 

If the thread got personal and people were slagging eachother off - it will be moderated, but banning is a little excessive ;)

Were they traders in the past? As no garage services are allowed to be traders anymore afaik.

price given by specialist 1.5-2.5k for rebuilding what was wrong about 2weeks or so was the time given. anyhoo prices went up blah blah I did notify them that I had cam belt and water pump/idlers etc done already. 2 months later 6weeks after given time (£1000 of extras were added recon turbos and decat) a bill for nearly 5k(he forgot to add... get this£1000 for engine removal labour also he did the same for 3 other people he said as he used an email template) was given after also finding a wobbly viscous fan!!!. I asked him was all ok and why would the fan wobble (wobbling aroun all over the place) he said was a damaged fan shroud and rotors. 200 miles later the water pump collapsed and I am left with a car I have shelled £8k on that I can't sell for £1k

The 300ZX club, which means the collective voice of all the Paid up members does not officially support ANY garage, whether or not they claim to be specialists in our cars. It doesnt support any Nissan dealers either.

So anyone who claims this to be the case is wrong.;)

He gave me every reassurance under the sun that it would be thouroughly checked and 100% spot on. was also supposed to set up the boost controller and I paid for another cam belt as was advised but the part That was wobbling around that he picked up on did not advise (as pushed for time as other peolpe were more important) did not even bother to check at these warning signs
