Not sure where the right place to post this is, so I'll stick it in here and let the mods decide if it gets moved/deleted :).

I bought the car in October 2002. It looked very standard. It was infact completely standard.

It's come along way in six years and it's been off the road for over half of that time. It was after I had compression problems and had to have the valves reseated that I decided to start making some customised changes to it. £50k+ and 6 years later the car is "almost" exactly how I want it.

So what have I spent all the money and time on.....

The very first modification I did was traction control. It was my pride and joy and I didn't want to trash it. I decided to fit this myself. Didn't have aclue what I was doing but got there in the end.

Next I decided to get rid of the orange side repeaters.

I never liked the tweed and covered it at an early stage, however I used vinyl rather than leather at this stage.

after

I had the 60k service done by zedworld and had braided brake lines fitted along with new standard discs and pads.

I then fitted an apexi induction kit.

Next on the list was window tints. I got these done in a semi small guy buy at Paul C's Garage in kent. I decided to stay legal at the fronts but go limo on the back.

It was the first time I had the car at PPS, Dropped the car off first time round when it was standard, fly back to London. Then went up there in the old Blue SWB NA, met Mac and headed to meet peter at PPS.

The 2nd time I had the car there it came back with a wings west custom rear bumper, IC vents moulded into the Stillen front bumper, blacked roof liners and an Ice works Boot Build. Had the boot build in the SWB done there as well (was a little more subtle that the TT one). Blue SWB was sold to Gumball in '07 who then sold it one to someone else, and I think he mentioned it's on piston heads again now, great little car that was, loved to drift.

I remember when JD got his first accidentail bling lol

Thats the one and Chunkster never got ut of Yasims car so we kept taking him pints and of course the inevitable happened and some of us had to man haddle him to the gents. Dunk300 and Wendy there as well as Dark Warrior

and co. I got some pics somewhere

The car has been off the road for a week due to a burst pipe that connects the hard water pipes to the block.

I had a few hours this weekend to do a little work on the car. I was hoping to get it all finished and back on the road, but a couple a couple of jubilee clips decided to give up the ghost and I didn’t have any spares so unfortunately it didn’t get finished this weekend.

What I did get done was as follows:

The front of the engine was stripped back to the timing belt. Radiator was removed along with all pipe-work, boost pipes and hard water pipes were removed. Cam covers and the rubber hoses that connect the hard pipes to the block (both of which were perished) were also removed. Flat surfaces were cleaned up.

The balance bar, cam covers, strut mounts & throttle cover were all sprayed up and lacquered. The plenum was given a quick polish with autosol.

I will clean up and detail the rest of the engine bay before the Radiator goes back in.

New mounts and hoses were fitted and sealed.

All coil packs were removed and spark plugs were examined (all were looking very healthy indeed). Coil packs were dismantled and new chrome brackets were installed (thanks to Slick Pete for rapid delivery and also for going out of his way to polish up some bolts for me). Unfortunately I didn’t have time to spray the coil pack base but I do intent to do this in the near future.

Cam covers were refitted. Hard pipes were refitted and clamped into place. Engine filled with coolant/water via top hose. New braided Fuel hose installed. Throttle cover refitted and balance bar refitted (and sealed).

Before anything else is done I’m going to look at replacing most of the jubilee clips with T-clamps as they are much stronger and more pleasing to the eye than jubilee clips.

If I get some time one evening this week and have the T-clamps by then I should be in a position to get it all finished and back on the road once more.

What can i say mate, maybe one day i'll have the know how to do this kinda stuff myself, until then i'll sit back and admire yours! Absolutely incredible! :D

well done stu glad you made it out the tunnel in the end (What a long ****ing tunnel though?! lol)

Managed to get a couple of hours today to sort some more engine bay stuff out. Car is up and running again with no signs of leaks or over heating :).
