Im going to buy the stillen sway bar kit with end links tonight,

I want to fine tune the zed so i have slightly less understeer and slightly more oversteer Would The rear have to be soft and front hard for this affect? Or is it the other way round?

Been reading the us forum but i dont trust too much of what the yanks say

Thanks

There is no clear cut way of defining how to adjust the sway bars. The Stillen kit comes with several suggestion depending on which way you want to go but in practice it depends a lot on the total suspension setup (struts/springs/adjustable arms/bushes/sway bars, etc).

I've got a spare Stillen ARB kit coming into the UK next week. I advertised it in the "trader items for sale" section. The price listed includes all the import duty/vat, etc. Let me know if that's of any interest to you.

Regards,

Dan

Just fitting the bars and putting them in the middle settings will alter the stock oversteer/understeer charteristics. You want to do that first and then compare the handling characteristics for your own preference, dont try and set them up first.

Front sway softer = less understeer

Front sway stiffer = more understeer

Rear Sway softer = less oversteer

Rear sway stiffer = more oversteer

What you may find is that the car is more inclined towards oversteer with the stillens, whereas the stock setup is more inclined towards understeer. This is becuase the rear sway on a Jap TT is very skinny (UK bar is stiffer), and therefore stillen upgrade will make the most impact on the rear sway stiffness.

Dan Il have a look at that now :D

I just wanted to clarify which way round it was.

Il have a day of adjustments when i do fit them.

The jap rear sway bar i have on at the mo is rather skinny like you said and i think its whats causing the unwanted oversteer now that everything else is uprated and stiffer over all.
