Go on then, if you have a 3" bore exhaust how much did you pay for it?

I've just been given a quote of near on £1k for a turbo back system with sport cats up to the existing backboxes. Just wanting to know how good a price this is.

Cheers,

Bradley

I have an Abflug system and it cost no where near that.

I would say £500 to £600 tops for a system

It sounds outrageous to me!!!

There is a place in Skelmersdale not far from me, who will make you an exhaust for a bit more than half that! Can't remember the name of the place but people on this forum have used them and have nothing but good things to say. :)

What inch bore is the exhaust though?? this is 3inch bore from the turbos back!! Didnt realise how big the bore was until i was shown a piece of 3" pipe.

I had my custom system built by myself and my mate (who is a welder) for under £200 plus a bottle of vodka and whisky. It consisits of 2 sections of 3 inch merged into 4 inch which goes into a single silencer which was custom made. I got the 4 inch pipes from a skip at work (was actually 4 inch Volvo FL6 Truck exhaust pipes that were being scarpped). Its from the cats back and sounds awsome when kicked and not too loud.

It does pay to be handy and use favours/mates to help you and not rely on companies charging a fortune.

Cheers John

Blueflame. great value for money . I have one. But at the cheap and cheerful end of the spectrum and NOT in3" either. Now costs over £400. And NO sports cats .

Leon at Alunox will want almost £1K for a custom cat back in that size. And No sports cats included.

A price of under £1k for a full system INCLUDING spoerts cats sounds good value to me.

Not used them myself yet Bri, but when i get round to getting myself a good exhaust i think i'll go see em' :D Can't afford stuff like that at the mo though :(

If that includes downpipes that have been researched for good flow rates then 3" all the way for a grand is a good price.

It's all good having a 3" exhaust but the downpipes are smaller than 3" so that's the bottle neck.

i once had an exhaust cat-back done on a vectra at longlife in leeds and it had CNC bent twists, I was not inpressed!

I asked for 3" turbo back and got quoted about £1k. But they know me so, they would do the work i asked of them, after all, it was them that quoted that price!! lol.

"sports cats" wont be cheap, and dont offer any real advantages. Cat test not MOT requirement on 300zx until 1995 onward models. Save yourself some cash and decat or keep the stock cats.
