Ok then, how do i de-tago the fron indicator unit on my uk model? I've got the unit itself off thinking it was the bulbs, but oh no, there is an orange part inside the unit itself! Dont want to force it open incase its not supposed to, HELP!!

i personally disassembled my jspec cluster using a heat gun... well... the mrs' hairdryer if im honest! and removed the orange dome. then simply replace with a silvertec type bulb.

though others have just bashed it to pieces and pulled it all out through the bulb hole... not 100% sure if this can be done on a uk spec though, so prolly best to get a heatgun on it

I can poke my finger through and touch the orange dome, didnt want to be so brutal though!

I'll get a head gun, aka hairdryer! lol.

Did you reseal them once you were done??

Cheers,

Bradley

i did have some sealant ready just in case... but if you just reheat the original sealant it becomes tacky again... just patience ;)

use a soldering iron to cut a cross in the lense then use needle nose pliars to snap off little bits at a time until it's all gone.

I'm curious why you are doing this ? are you turning them into a kind of fog light and putting jap indicators on instead of the blank. If so not a bad idea.

Well i did them last night, 10min job each and they look rather pleasant! Rather than use soldering iron etc it was easy just to get the hairdryer on them warm the base of them up (t'is where all the glue is) then painfully force them apart with my fingers (didnt trust using a screwdriver etc) Then when it came to reassemble them i simply warmed the glue up again then stuck them back together, i'll post some pics up later as im chuffed with the results!

Quite the difference! And to top it all, the silvatec bilbs should have cost me £15, but as the packaging didint have a barcode, the chap at halford put them through at £10!! Bonus!
