hi im new to the site so hope i get ths right.

im the proud owner of a 1992 300zx tt manual british car not an import.

iv owned the car a week now and got to say wow.... im impressed.

the car had been stood for about 5 month when i bought her but started 1st turn of the key and ran like a dream. but the last few days she has developed a flat spot when you floor the excelerator.in fact even if you excelerate slowly there is a defernate flat spot of some kind.

just wonderd if anbody had any ideas on what it could be i no she is due a service which if it ever stops raining im going to do as i no this is crucial on the tt models. ther is also a knocking noise from the top end its not constent it just come when you rev the car at about 3500 revs and then go's as the revs get higher

many thanks

dave

try some wynns hydraulic lifter treatent, if that doesnt work take a look at the vvt springs as this could also be the cause of the flat spot as well as the upper knocking , if this fails your looking at lifter replacement probably

Welcome to the site, might be worth someone in your area to come over and give it a check

With niggly little problems being sometimes the worst to cure, you could try Zedworld in Tamworth http://www.zedworld.co.uk/

or you could take a trip up the road so to speak and see Phil at Blackmoor Service Station

363 Manchester Rd , Astley, Manchester, Lancashire M29 7DX

Hope that helps ;)

Just to keep you all informed after excellent advice from smithy I took a slow drive over to Zworld in Tamworth today. http://www.zedworld.co.uk/.(And a very quick drive back) After a complete diagnostics check, it turns out knocking noise is due to a cam bearing, and the flat spot was a combination of two faulty lamber sensors a massive boost leak and one Throttle Body opening before the other. So one oil and filter change later lamber sensors disconnected which apparently was the best thing to do until they are repaired. Boost leak found and cured. I now have a 300ZX Twin Turbo that puts the biggest grin on my face-Since the day I lost my virginity ;) So many thanks to Geoff and his son for their work today and all for the poultry sum of £121 (Well worth the money)

Next stop back to Geoff at Zworld for new Cam Bearing, New Lamber Sensor and a possible chip upgrade. Thanks to everyone for all your help and advice.
