Hi all,

Im getting a new zed, import TT one to stick in my new engine etc etc.

Im also going to put in my UK TT interior. It has heated seats, am i best to cut holes in the control bit to fit the heated seats buttons or should I possibly try and get hold of a USA one that has the space cut out already??

You might as well just fit the one from your UK car. You lose the folding mirror function, but thats not important anyway.

The U.S ones have completely differnet layout, as they have the adjustable sports suspension button instead, and dont have the folding mirrors button.

you could mount the switches somewhere else... or just re-route the folding mirror switch somewhere?

sorry for the hi-jack but is the us adjustible suspension any good?

It uses an electric actuator on top of the shocks to switch between firm and soft damping. UK models also have this feature but on the rear shocks only and they dont have the switch.

Most people replace them with Aftermarket shocks that does away with the adjustable damping anyway.

I think you pull up the handbrake one notch.

I Have a U.K spec TT with the heated seat function, I recently fitted some switches in my car for the pc and wanted to mount them in the spare blank holes on that switch module. But after removing it and carefully taking it apart it would have been almost impossible to mount them there due to the complex mouldings inside the switch unit, so I relocated the alarm LED from next to the clock to that module which is all that would fit and put the switches next to the clock.

If it was me i'd put your UK control in which has the seat heting controls and try and find a way for the alarm to close the mirrors when you arm it.

What if he wants to flip in the mirrors whilst the car is running? to fit through a tight space or something?

That would be one tight space!

As UK cars didn't have this functionality full stop controlling it through the alarm seems a good compromise. It's also what many manufacturers do as standard now-a-days.

Thats a superb idea!
