went to look at a tt lexus soarer yesterday only 500 quid car boosts well and drives ok only prob is when i took oil cap off in engine was a greasy film is it head gasket?

the guy has just had a new water pump fitted and hes been running it like it for a while could this cause this

i mean its only 500 quid but would like some idea if anyone has any advice

Im sorry bud but that just sounds like a liability to me.£500 seems to good to be true and it probaly is.

I think you wallet may get a little 'soarer' after the exercise it may have to do!!:nelson: Don't know anything about the car itself except its a sports saloon (if thats right!!??). Expensive seems to ring a bell though!:eek:

Well IMO if you want a cheap Turbo run around for the time being then go for it mate. Even if it is the head then after a few weeks I am sure you could break it for near £500?

you can also get that if its only used for very short journeys and doesn't let the engine oil get hot.

 

give it an oil/filter change - hopefully all will be ok - if not - what have you lost really?

The 1JZ engine in these are very strong and alot of the drift boys are fitting these in s13/s14/r32 etc, the engines worth about £700-800 on its own .I take it its a auto because manual boxes are realy rare a worth loads.

yeah is an auto its a bit slower than a 300zx but at least it has a bit of a kick
