I went up there about 5/6 years ago or so - it's very nice area to visit and I'd gladly go back........

I remember Craster was nice - especially the walk along the sea to Dunstanburgh (sp?) Castle. Bamburgh was also pleasant; as were Blanchland, Alnmouth, Alnwick etc. Aydon Castle, Prudhoe Castle and Belsay Hall are also worth visiting. (I think our English Heritage membership easily paid for itself in that week alone!!!:p)

We also visited a number of forts along Hadrian's Wall - and the road along the wall is just great in a 300zx:bow:

The Beamish open air museum is really good, but I found Durham town disappointing and the multi-storey car park I used there was very tight and not at all Z-friendly!!

You also have to go across to Lindisfarne - the causeway is a great place for a car photo (I think Macca has one of his Z leaving the Island somewhere;))

We stayed here - I seem to remember it was pleasant enough.......then, anyway
