I want to start practicing my welding skills.

Where can I get Metal tubing (both square section and round) and sheet the same thickness as body panels (3mm I think)

I haven't seen a 'metal shop!'

Thanks bud, it's a thought, but would rather use 'new' metal - Just so when it goes wrong - I can't blame anything but my crappy welding, and not the metal.:rofl:

Good idea Steve. But if you ever find yourself needing to weld your car then its not going to be new metal so getting thrown in at the deep end is sometimes the better way to go. :D

Are you going to mig arc or gas weld?

umm Mig!

I like mig but love arc welding. Gas is a lot harder but by far the best and most satisfying. IMO> :D TIG is even better. :)

Ditto that. The zinc goes like cotton wool and it gets stuck in your lungs and kills you. Only weld steel.

I like arc welding but thats just because that what I weld my pipes with and trained in. Not done much mig or tig.

If you can get me a couple of tons of bits off them, with the price of metal at the moment then you can sell it back to them:tongue:
