As per the above, what are the widest tyres you've fitted to a set of 8.5" standard rear Z32 wheels? & what about the front (8")?

You can get 245's on there but as mentioned above you would be much better with 235's.

i have 265's on mines, had them over 2 years no problems, but 235 would be best bet.

You have 265 tyres on a 8.5" wide rim   I have 265's on a 9.5" rim!

Why only 235? I'm looking for the best grip (I don't care about looks) so surely the 265 or 275 would make the most sense?

If it never rains in Ireland go for widest - if it rains go for 235. Ever had a Zed surf on you?

Wide rubber on dry tracks is great. You have to balance it out for road use. My Zed is slower in the 'very' wet than my Skoda was and probably my wifes A CLass.

OK, if you have an 8" (200mm) rim and fit a 275mm wide tyre on it it will not stretch out and make the tread wider. It will raise the profile and make the tyre sit higher on the rim (if you went the other way and put say a 235 on a 9.5 rim then it would do the opposite). OK you might get a bit more width but the tyre will bubble over the rim edge and could potentially be dangerous. I know the bead of the tyre is not as wide as the outter tread portion but tyres are made to fit on the correct size rims and if you exceed these measurements especially on such a high performance car you could be in for trouble.

Of course its up to you and this is only IMO. :)

The wheels are going onto a 200SX, & yes, I've had that surf on me with 18" 350Z alloys sport 245/45/18's on the rear. :)

UK zeds have 245 as standard on the 16" rim which is 8.5"

What us the standard profile on them? 245/45/16 is it?

I meant for the 8.5"?

What're the standard width/profiles for the front & back of the UK-spec Z32 TT wheels?

Ment 225/50R16 on the front

+ the UK front Wheel is 8J and the rear is 9J

I thought they were 7.5j front and 8.5j rear......
They are!

What tyres do people put on the standard wheels then? I wanted to put Falken 452's on all-round but they'll only do those sizes for the front one. :(

Toyo Proxes T1R are the only crowd that do front & backs in the above sizes it seems (of the good brands).
