Hi All,

I had the rear bumper and spoiler sprayed on my Z and now they show the rest of the car up. Anyone know any good stuff to restore the paint??.

If your only trying to brighten your paint up, T Cut is far too agressive.

Try using AutoGlyms paint restorer or Meguiar Paint cleaner first. You can get both from any decent motorfactor or Halfrauds

Depends how faded the original paint is mate? In the past, I've found that mixing coloured wax (to suit your paint, obviously!) and T-cut in about 70/30 ratio works quite well. Then a good quality wax on top, job done.

All good and most tried but I think this sun damage and I don't fancy the prospect of a respray, especially as I have seen some of the disasters that can happen!.

You could try detailingworld - I know Peach is a member on there... it's amazing what can be done with the right compounds and a random orbit polisher! There's a few people who will do detailing work - FunkiSi had his done I believe...

Depending on how bad it is I have found G3 cutting compound to be spot on if used correctly! Just my two penneth worth.

What colour is it Clint?

Meguiars trade range machine polishes can work minor miracles if used correctly, but in some cases the actual pigment of the colour can be bleached by the sun (most common in red paints) and cannot be restored.

If you're ever near Leicester I'll give it a go for you :)

when the red ones fade it looks like a half sucked smartie:p
