Probably too late - removal of the cats has just shown that your tubs are on the way out. I'd imagine your going to need to replace the tubs soon.

drove it OFF boost today to work and back (30 miles total)

then boosted it when coming from the gym, and no smoke???

is it possible that it was just flushing some old shit from outa the exhaust?

or isit 100% turbo seals and just didnt smoke just now?

Going to put the cats back on this weekend.

Could be a number of things.

Decatting and turbo fail is too commonly used in the same sentence.

Ok, I decatted and about 4000 miles later I lost the seal on my passenger side turbo, but then the car at the time was approaching 80k miles and the suggested life span of a turbo (from nissan) is only 70k. So they probably still would have gone anyway, I just helped them along a little quicker.

Give it a while, listen out for any noise like a bag of nail rattling as you enter boost.

See if the smoke dies down after a while. Check / change your PCV valves.

Check / change your PCV valves.

how many are there?

and where are they?

There are 2 valves themselves, these are used to ventilate the crank case. However these two valves are embedded into two seperate pipes.

Most people just by the pcv valves as a kit of 5 pipes.

4 are really easy to change, the fifth is at the back of the plenum and most people leave this one in place and only change the four sides ones.

I persoanally changed them all and although a little tricky changing the back one, it's no where near as hard as chaging your water pipes that go through the firewall to the heater matrix.

Try these links for how to's on changin the pcv valves

Hope this helps.

I had a straight through but well silenced Blue Flame stainless exhaust fitted three years ago after which there was some oil smoke, particularly at idle' for 18 months. Now smoke is rarely seen. The turbo's are fine after 90k miles so just take care on the last few miles before the end of a journey and allow the turbo's five minutes of normal driving to cold soak them. I suspect that the turbo seals reprofile themselves over a period of time due to the decrease in effective back pressure. I suspect your turbo's are fine. Give them a few months yet.
