Hi folks, i've done a search on idle problems but i'm still none the wiser. My Zed doesn't want to idle. I've done all the usual things, checked the TPS, Yellow Temp sender, Injector connectors, Plugs, air leaks, AIC clean, but i still cant seem to fix it.

The one thing that did seem to make a difference was unplugging the MAF. With it unplugged the engine idled smoothly. Does this indicate that the MAF is faulty or not faulty as i am a little confused by Smithy's response in another thread.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated. If it helps the ECU is showing code 55 and the Datascan s/ware is showing that the MAF is giving an output?????

Cheers, Mark

Hi there, i've knocked up a boost leak detector out of an old coke bottle and tyre valve, but i can't seem to get enough pressure using an electric tyre inflator.

What have other people used when pumping air into the engine? Foot pump, hand pump etc?

Also, if i half cover the mouth of the MAF with my hand when running the idle smooths out, any ideas??

Cheers, Mark

If you can't get the pressure form an electric tyre pump you may well have a boost leak.

Using a compressor is the only way you're gonna check for sure.

Can you not take you car to a petrol station and use thier tyre inflator machine to test ?

Or even better get a garage to rig a compressor up to it.
