you need the car on an incline for starters, then you need to fill it up to the brim and remove the bleed screw from the left hand side of the rad, then with the engine running watch the water go down and top up as required, but dont forget to let the thermostat open

Tried this but the bleed valve is fooked just run it with the cap off for a while took a little bit of water but not a lot i have just a new cap to see if this does the trick cos i have noticed water on the floor in the garage on the passenger side wright at the front but it had a new rad last year and a new bottom hose so hopefully it's nothing to serious.

try getting it up in the air with it running and you might be able to see where its coming from

Sorry mate so did you actually overheat or did the heater just go cold?

Obviously when you take the cap off a normal radiator it will "go whoosh"and throw steam everywhere if it is hot and you will then have to fill up again - as you did.

If your bleed screw is knackered why dont you order another one off Mike @ MJP? cant imagine it will cost you more than a couple of quid!

turn the heaters on max heat and max flow while running the engine, that will circulate the water and get the air out :)
