looks to me like under inflation, thats what you usually get when driving on a flat

the other side is doing the same

and davezx said his are doing the same in the same place

they look like they are rubbing on something ???but i cant see what ?

the worn part seems to be worn inwards like an arc, not flat like you would expect from flat or camber problem ??

i may be wrong but, that looks like the typical patern of a tyre folding in on its self when driven on whilst flat. have you got under and had a look at curb weight to see if any thing is touching from lock to lock?

not at the mo m8

its on blocks with no engine in it:rofl:

will check if i ever get it back on the road again:headvswal

Yep as silverbullet says that is what happens when they are well underinflated !

I ran a 'run flat' for 200 miles flat, thats what it looked like afterwards, a normal tyre wouldn't last anywhere near that though.(not on the Z though i didnt!)

Edited by wow300

mine are the same and its costing me a fortune in tyres. only last a few mounths on the front, o/f more than the n/s.

Could it be down to the camber???

:shock:Something wrong somewhere, shouldn't be splitting like that

Looks to me like it is rubbing on something but my boy, who is a tyre fitter, says it may be tracking. He says to check to see if it is feathering.

Darrell

i had the same prob! Tracking seems to have sorted it out! only cost me a tenner and saved me a fortune on new tyres :)

You could have Toe seriously out, which would cause sever scrubbing of the wheel....but that would be very noticable in terms of handling and would involve a bent arm.

I caught mine before they ended up like Tizer. very exsessive were on the ??inner edge. I do rub sometime on funny dips on the road. just might be that

Will have to check the tracking as everything underneath is all straight.

Thats coz you dont have adjustable front arms and rears your camber is well out, i rememeber you mentioning it in a post a while back that your cars lowered and u didnt bother with the arms. Get some goodies mate and save yaself £££3 in the long run.

as for tizer i have no idea. maybe the arch is scrubbing on suspension travel?

ive had a good look round, while the wheel is off, and i cant find anything to show that it has been rubbing on anything ???

Cheers James i will give it a go. but just bought some massive brakes

Mine started this only noticed it a few weeks ago with the inside down to the wire and looked like you used a cheese greater! so I blamed the garage that done my tracking! but that was ok when I had it checked, so changed the wheels around back to front seems as it sorted the problem!!

cant change wheels round

rears wider than fronts

Think he means change the left to right tyres on the front so the wear is on the outside ;)
