What wrong with it now!!

Can any one help, ive had an alarm fitted on the weekend took it for a drive to work and back today but the auto box will only go in hold mode and is only using 1st and 2nd gear, ive tried to do the diagnostic test but cant get it to work could the alarm guy have done something, blown a fuse or disconected something any ideas would great.

Ive been in touch with the alarm fitter and he states there is no way he has done anything to make the gearbox faulty.

If it is an electrical fault can i get it sorted by an autoelectrican.

I dont think its mechanical theres no noises or bangs coming from the gearbox.

Please help

Unfortunatly it could very well be mechanical, you dont tend to get any noises when it is, and your symptons are very typical of mechanical failure.

However you really need to get the diagnostics to work to see if there are any errors. I've not got any suggestions for that other than retry it, carefully checking your following the procedure exactly.
