Im assuming there should be a boot switch somewhere, coz I know theres a boot light, so questions are

1 Where is the switch (anyone got a picture??)

2 Would the lack of a switch cause my 'door open' light on the dash to remain on

3 Im assuming if 2 above is 'yes' then should there be more than just a wire from the switch to the light, for example a relay

4 Im also assuming if 2 is 'yes' thats why my alarm system is malfunctioning.

Any answers would be really appreciative, preferably with any pics to help. be aware that as an auto electrician I make a good joiner!!

The switch is in the boot lock unit

so it would effect the warning light and alarm then??

The dash warning light - yes, your alarm - possibly not. A lot of alarms use a separate push-type switch for the boot and hood of the car. Having said that, my alarm uses the boot switch ...
