Having problems with speedo like others here - goes up to 100kph then drops back to zero

Just had speedo sensor changed, didnt cure problem so guess must be clocks.

The question is - is the speedo clock driven by variable voltage from sensor or variable frequency?

Can't find any info from manual on disk or online

Variable voltage, you may find the power steering also affected by this problem.

Common cause is usually dry joints on the circuit board on the back of the speedo clock, its a case of taking the dash clocks out and taking the speedo module out to gain access to the board, then reflow fresh solder over any parts of the solder that look dull on the tracks, a dry joint is not always visible, so best to go over all the tracks on the board.
