Here is a video of the prob im having.

seems to be slightly less hesitation with tps disconnected more noticeable when driving.

Left o2 sensor has been succesfully fixed, thanks to jimmer's suggestion and the help of vjay and his trusty laptop :D

Once the car has been driven for a few miles the idle really starts to shoot up and down.

these vids are of the car warmed up and stationary so has not been driven.

First video is with tps connected and blipping the throttle:

Jimmy, you state that left O2 was sorted, mine was doing the same for a while when warm but seemed to clear itself, then after a few weeks the right side decided to join its mate, now they are both shot, but the hesitation has gone, i know i need a new pair, as Topless checked on consult on rolling road day, just a thought,

hi mate

mine had the exact same idle probs as ur video shows.........

took my 300 to "zedworld" in tamworth to c "jeff" and had major boost leak, which he sorted out, but still idled as urs did, hunting up and down.

turned out to be the e.c.u i got from "Z1" in u.s.

changed the e.c.u. and chip to zedworld and cured the problem!!!!!!!!!!!

if ur e.c.u. is "bad" as mine was from "Z1" then try changing it.

hope this helps.

alan.

Do O2 sensor do anything at idle ?.

I was under the impression they don't do anything until over 2500 rpm ?

Do you have a vid of it on idle without the bliping of the throttle ?

Maybe worth starting there.

You have to remember that all US cheips, JWT, Z1 ashspec etc etc. Are mapped on US fuel.

no, o2 sensors dont do much on idle, but a faulty one will keep the o2 rating at a set reading i think somewhere between 30-33 runnign slighty rich for safety i would imagine. mine didnt read anything at all as there was a short, i dont know what the ecu would do in that situation there was no reading at all on the consult.

Il get another vid of it idling soon in the week.

but i can tell you that once driven for a while the idle gets worse and moves from 500rpm to 1000rpm constantly in fast loops if that makes sense. kinda like what it does in the vid after i have blipped the throttle where it drops to 500 and back up to 1000 but imagine that continuely

p.s the ecu/chip was still hanging when trying to copy the chip info. dunno what this means.

Mine does this - I'm sure mine's because of my air leak. You sorted any air leaks on yours now? Will try do a video of my zed idling tomorrow for you to see if yours does the same :)

Hmmmmm. Will have another think :)

CheerZ,

get your airleak sorted mate. do an air leak test. very easy.

I will do. It's just having the time and thinking of the best things to make the boost leak tester out of - hopefully without having to buy anything :p

find an old tyre valve from a tyre shop and cut the end of a water bottle or something of correct size then make a hole in the centre of the bottle just big enough to pull the valve through and make a tight seal :D shuv on the end of intake apply pressure listen for hiss, spray soapy water over noise area hay presto.

Exactly what I intend to do - hopefully will get round to this tomorrow along with investigating which parts of the exhaust I need to replace :(

I have a friend whos binliner did this, ran like crap at idle, especially when blipping the throttle. His turned out to be a mixture of both the o2 sensors and the air flow meter was duff, both contributed to the issues (which is why when checking with a known good AFM the issue didnt go away, made for a confusing diagnosis!)

Perhaps worth trying!

hmmmm interesting.

hmmmm interesting.

His did exactly this, i believe a duff AFM made his idle hunt but duff o2 sensors made it try and die wheven the throttle was blipped or say turned the air con on or made the power steering work etc, it couldnt react quick enough to keep it running at roughly the same revs etc.

Also idle control valve, if thats gone a big gunky could cause the issue?>?

hmmmmmmm.

im gunna test the maf again 2mow, think im also gunna take out the aac and take it apart although ive already cleaned the crap out of it.

So a duff o2 will make the car wanna stall?

keep hearing different things from people. dunno who to listen to :(

also on the us site someone is saying a bad o2 will affect idle. hmmmmm

few more things to keep me busy then.

Doesnt anyone know the syptoms of a bad tps on a manual?
