reverse lights not working,

there are 2 bulbs, but one has been changed to a red bulb, and theres a manual switch for it, used as a fog light.

however the other bulb doesnt light up? (i have checked the bulb)

do you need reverse lights for MOT? as the car had 11 months MOT when i got it, so unsure if was working then?

PS there are 2 wires that go off the reverse bulbs,

green and a black one, asume this connects to the gear selector somewhere?

well well.

didnt know that.

would like to have 1 tho, nice for others to know where your going isnt it...

Hi,

My old Z31 passed it's mot a few years running without working reversing lights!....Depends how strict the tester is!

Jez.

if a reverse light is in place and it dont work then its a failm, if you have none then that is fine

no, its not testable at all :p

The basic rule is, if it is on the car it has to be in working order but that is for Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme, not 100% sure on MOT but others say it is not required. However if you were pulled over by police they could require you fix it.

The reverse light is not part of the MOT test and therefore your car cannont and will not fail if its working whether its there or not !
