Posted July 17, 200816 yr WTF!!!!! did a compression test on number 6 and it came back almost zero, added some oil, still zero must be a valve or the headgasket , im not getting any smoke at all, just waiting for my mechanic to call back... Having a bit of a nightmare at the mo :( Looks like its coming apart again. :(
July 17, 200816 yr Author Its just been built 50 miles ago with forged rods pistons u name it... Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
July 17, 200816 yr its gotta be a duff test, cant possibly be nearly zero. Even if the head gasket was leaking i doubt it would be that low. I also cant imagine someone "forgetting" to put the rings in either. To be that low there's almost zero seal in the cylinder, valves have been put in properly havent they???

Mate there is like almost zero and u can hear air escaping from the top somehwhere im 90% sure it must be something in the head.
July 17, 200816 yr hmmmmmmmmm, i dont think it'll be head gasket bud, not showing nearly zero compression anyway. I refuse to believe theres no rings in there, so really i would think it has to be valve related. Where the heads rebuilt by any chance????

From raeding your post in the other section, you have only done this No.6 and not tested the others, you MUST test the others as it also confirms what your doing is correct and equipment working as it should. If i was Scott and you rang up saying the first cylinder you checked and got zero comression in No.6 and didn't test any of the others, to be blunt, i'd hang the phone up on you and walk saying something you wouldn't wanna hear. So you need to spend/waste the time checking ALL 6 before you lose yer rag. smithy

July 17, 200816 yr Smithy ok first thing is its missfiring on cylinder 6 what does that tell you? ive already switched over coil packs and spark plugs to another cylinder and they are fine the injector is tapping away...... so why is the a very blatent air pumping noise coming from number 6? There aren't exactly many places from which air can escape, setting aside holes in pistons, stuck (open) valves and huuuuge headgasket hole. You sure that it's not something else with an air leak ? Anyway, assuming you know how to use a compression tester, and knowing you then I'm certain you do, then you have to get the mechanic involved. What can you see if you look down the plug hole with a torch ? (know any Docs with an endoscope ? :) ) Does the oil you put in disappear ? Any clues as to whether the valves are moving ?

July 17, 200816 yr Author you've swapped the coil packs, but that doesn't mean the PTU is outputting on that cylinder... the noise could be fuel slurping around... took out the coilpack and spark turned over the engine and there is a strong spark so its not that.
July 17, 200816 yr only way Jimmy is do a full test on all 6 that way you know its only the one bank or its the equipment your testing with or it might highlight other cylinders that are low who knows ..............anyway you will definately need to know for Scott when you call him as for sure he will ask about it good luck
July 17, 200816 yr Author He just called back, booked in for monday 27th, He said if its down to parts failing then im to blame if its something he has done then hes at fault, how do i know he wont just say its a broken valve spring and screw me over?

July 17, 200816 yr Take the day off on the 27th and watch him open it up. That way you can see for yourself if you don't trust him. Did you test the other cylinders ?

July 17, 200816 yr Also check that the date is correct....there isn't a Monday 27th:confused: Hope it aint to serious
